The traditional Dream Catchers of the Plains have remained a place in Wichita artist Michael Chas Williams’ art while maintaining a source of and connection with the Spirituality of the People of Turtle Island.

A portion of the funds from art sales will be used to further the arts in Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.

Potter Kirsty Iredale finds continual inspiration from the plants and creatures of the chaparral surrounding her Santa Monica Mountains
studio.

Her functional art captures nature’s designs in clay. A portion of the funds from art sales will be donated to further arts in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.

Reservations Required.

Lokota Native, Kathy Willcuts will be leading a workshop on beaded bracelets.  She will sharing beading traditions from her tribe, and the basics of creating very own bracelet.

There are two workshops available. The first workshop begins promptly at 10am. The second workshops begins at 1pm. Please be on time. Materials will be provided and all ages welcome.

Come for: Contests, jamming, featured performers, folk dancing, flat-foot dancing, clogging, children’s activities, story tellers, hand-made crafts, workshops, food trucks (or bring your own), and exhibits. Enjoy the sunset at Rancho Sierra Vista while the Chief of the Southern Clan of the Chumash will be sharing his cultural background and history. Chief Ted Garcia will be sharing and performing Chumash songs and stories at the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center.

This program is for all ages. There are no reservations required for this program. Please wear layers for changing weather conditions and bring a flashlight. Also, feel free to bring camping chairs for comfortableness.

The main parking lot entrance is  at the intersection of Via Goleta and Potrero Rd, Newbury Park, CA, 91320.

The McMaster family will share their Cherokee heritage while demonstrating Native American dance.

The McMaster youth are avidly active in Pow Wows across California and will demonstrate particular Pow Wow dances. They will be in traditional regalia and will gladly share additional information as to what their regalia means and why they wear it.
