Autumn Equinox Night Hike @ Franklin Canyon Lower Ranch

Celebrate the arrival of autumn! Join a Naturalist Guide on a night hike and see how the changing seasons affect the night sky.

Please arrive early. Guests will be unable to enter the park after 6:20, so plan accordingly.

All attendees must park in the paved parking lot as part of the public program to avoid ticketing by Rangers. Guests parking on the road will be ticketed.

Join a Franklin Canyon Docent for a nature-themed Story Time followed by a Guided Nature Walk around the lake at Franklin Canyon.
Recommended ages are 4-10, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please wear closed toed shoes.

Join our resident film enthusiast for a guided hike to view classic film and television locations, and learn the Hollywood history of Franklin Canyon. Franklin Canyon has been the chosen film location for Hollywood productions since the silent film era. Come and walk in the steps of Andy Griffith, Capt Kirk, and Clark Gable.
Meets outside the Sooky Goldman Nature Center.
Please wear closed toe shoes.

WHEN:
Bus Arrives at 9:00 AM and will return by 4:00 PM.
Seating is on a first come, first-served basis.

WHERE:
Meet in the parking lot of Vista Hermosa Natural Park.
We’ll board the bus and then head to a TBD park in the Santa Monica Mountains. Visit our Facebook Events page for the most up-to-date information on destination.

WHAT TO BRING:
Wear weather-appropriate clothes and comfortable shoes. Pack water, a lunch, snacks, sunblock, a hat, and sunglasses in a backpack.

Full Moon Hike @ Franklin Canyon-Lower Ranch

Join us for a free guided hike beneath the light of a full moon!
Full moon hikes are family friendly and approximately 2.5 miles
with a moderate incline.
Please dress in layers for changing temperatures, wear closed toe shoes, and bring water.

Due to filming all guests must use the Beverly Hills entrance to access this hike.
To access this entrance take Beverly Drive north, and continue on Beverly Drive as it travels through residential streets and up and into the canyon.
Once you are traveling downhill you will come to a fork at Lake Dr next to a stone house-turn right at the stone house and travel down Lake Dr. This road will dead end and you will see a paved parking lot on your left as you near the roads end.

Wear your favorite hike-friendly costume-no masks please.
