On Saturday, December 8th, weather permitting, we’ll set up for observing – first the Sun while it’s in the sky then the stars, planets, etc. after dark – near the Satwiwa Indian Center.
You are invited to join us. We’ll have information to help you find objects in the night sky and we’ll look for satellites passing overhead.
This is a fairly dark site and easily accessible.
Bring binoculars or telescopes if you have them and DRESS IN LAYERS for comfort – even a warm day seems cool at night standing around in a field.
RAIN CANCELS THIS EVENT.
If it’s clear or clear-ish, we’ll go out observing that night.
Questions & curiosity welcome!
Free and Open to the Public!
This is an Everyday Spacer sponsored event!
To find the Star Party, take the 101 to Lynn Road then drive toward the coast. At Via Goleta, turn left and you’ll see the wood and rocks entry to the park.
Drive through that gate and turn right into the first parking lot you come to.
I’ll make the go/no go decision around noon that day! I’ll update the meetup page here with that information…
