On Saturday April 13 and 27, we will offer a free presentation and hike for all teachers on “Wildfires and Fire Ecology in Southern California” at Paramount Ranch. The talks will be held at the King Gillette Ranch Visitor Center and the walks will take place at Paramount Ranch.

We will share the basics of fire ecology in the recent burned area, discuss outdoor classroom techniques, share resources, lesson plans and ideas on how to encourage students to visit the park.

For more information and to RSVP, please email samo_education@nps.gov or call 805-370-2304 with the date of your choice at least one week before the event. Include your name, email, phone number, the school where you teach, and if you will be attending the talk, the hike, or both.
